The Altea Yacht Club offers a wide array of activities for sea enthusiasts

October will catch the attention of all enthusiasts of sailing sports, yatch races, fishing and any other sea-related activities. The Altea Yacht Club (Club Náutico Altea) is organizing these events according to the Valencia and Spanish national Schedule of marine sports.

If you are a troll fishing or sailing enthusiast, the next few weeks will offer you a good deal of events.

Trolling contest: For those fishermen who enjoy trolling fishing (a method of fishing where one or more fishing lines, baited with lures or bait fish, are drawn through the water), this October 16th will take place the local contest of trolling with all ships departing from Altea Yatch Club.

As from June 3rd the Real Club Nautico of Calpe will begin the regata, “ XXII Trofeo Peñón de Ifach”. In this video you can see some of the sailing boats that once again, participate from the regata from  Peñón De Ifach- Formentera – Peñón de Ifach.

Sailing Tour of Spain: 12 to 28 june 2010

The Sailing Tour of Spain 2010 and this year has the added attraction that one of the seven designated ports is Calpe (Alicante). The Sailing Tour of Spain starts on the June 12th  and ends June the  28th .

They will be sailing in IMOCA Open 60  boats with five crew members will participate. The competition is made up of six stages and a total of 1,735 miles. They will be  visiting the port of Hondarribia, Santander, Gijón, Sanxenxo, Calpe, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona during the course of the competition. This year´s  Sailing Tour of Spain will be held in June and we will see 5 Spanish teams and  2 French participating.
