Purísima Xiqueta is the patron saint of Benissa, and this patron saint festival is the most important in town and one of the most awaited of the region.

During the month of April the towns of Teulada and Benissa are the protagonists of the Costa Blanca with the celebrations of their patron saints. In Benissa this year the festivities in honour of the Puríssima Xiqueta 2010 are to be held from 23rd of April until the 2nd of May.
