This week we would like to echo a story that has been published by the Town Hall of Calpe, informing to all residents and visitors about a new service of daily update reports on swimming conditions status of the coves and beaches in the area of Calpe.
In particular, this service will reort the state of the Arenal Bol beach, Puerto Blanco beach, La Fose-Levante, Morell cove, Calalga cove, Roig beach and El Raco beach.
Those wishing to access these reports may do so through the following link which contains updated information about the flag colour flying in each beach of Calp, so that anyone knows whether if the place is suitable for swimming or not (it is in Spanish).
This June, there are a few touristy and leisurely activities in Calpe:
As you will tell, there is an activity for anyone, no matter their age, preferences or available time off. That is: there is no excuse to enjoy Calpe during the start of the summer.
These are the guided tours and excursions to take place in June:
Excursion into the historic city centre: Visit to the old town, getting to know the places of interest in more detail.
In May, it is difficult to get bored in Calpe. This month, there are many activities planned in town.
As you will tell most excursions are free of charge. All you have to do is plan a little in advance and sign up. This means you can get rid of the “crisis” as an excuse to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Calpe, both the urban and natural ones.
These are the guided tours and excursions planned:
Excursion into the historic city centre: Visit to the old town, getting to know the places of interest in more detail.
Calpe has such an abundance of beaches and coves to offer that we thought it would be helpful to print here the GPS coordinates of all of them so that you can find even the most remote together with information about beach facilities.
- Playa Levante or Fossa, GPS coordinates 38 ° 38’51 .25 “N 0 ° 4’31″ E, fine sandy beach with promenade, with all services including lifeguard surveillance.
- Playa Cantal Roig, GPS coordinates 38 ° 38’31 .70 “N 0 ° 3’48 .13″ E, fine sandy beach, with a variety of restaurants that make it perfect to sample the local cuisine.
Here is a link to the new guide to Charming Beaches and Coves which is published by the Comunitat Valenciana and in which it appears the Cala Gasparet of Calpe.
The guide defines La Cala Gasparet in Calpe as follows ( rough translation): “Slumbering on the edge of the Sierra de Toix and away from the buildings that cover the rest of the area there is a small cove known as Cala Gasparet, near to which is the Cave of the Oroneta. Its access is impossible to most, since all along the coast their are towering limestone cliffs but to any with the privilege of having a small boat the access is easy. The Sierra de Toix has the best views of this stretch of coast and is accessible from a undulating track that reaches the top, from where the bravest jump in their colourful paragliders in search of the beach. ”
