The German Carnivals Calpe

Calpe Carnival Club has everything ready to celebrate the International Festival of Music and Dance and the German Carnival Festival 2012 in an event that will be held at the sports hall of Calpe on the weekend of 25 and 26 February 2012.

On Saturday 25 February 2012, the “International Festival of Music and Dance” will kick off of the carnival celebrations at 20:00 h. The doors of the venue will open at 19:00 hours.

Last January 2012 marked the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Natural Park status to the Rock of Ifach. This decree was taken up in the official gazette 1/1987 of the Council of the Generalitat Valenciana. The rating of Natural Park (nature reserve) has allowed us all to enjoy over the years one of the most characteristic landscapes of the coast of Valencia, as it is protected and preserved.

Today, Friday 3 and tomorrow Saturday February 4, the Fester Theater Company of Calpe will perform the play Aristophanes’ “Lysistrata”, one of the most important classic Greek theater plays representing the genre of comedy, parody and social criticism.

The deliciously funny story of the play will be for sure mastered by the performance of the Fester theater company for the amusement of all the attendees. The play is about a group of Greek women, who decide that the best way to end the Peloponnesian War is by sexual abstinence revolution led by Lysistrata, hence the name of the play.

Calpe Town Hall

Calpe Town Hall

In a town Hall session held 2 weeks ago (Friday 13 January, 2012), the Calpe council unanimously approved  an act to expedite the opening of business related to leisure and commerce in the town.

The ordinance and town paperwork procedures will be speeded up in order to easily get opening licenses for restaurant within one month after submitting the required documentation. These measures intend to encourage the opening of economic activities in the Calpe, making easier businesses start-up related to leisure and shopping.
