Conditions of the beaches of Calpe

This week we would like to echo a story that has been published by the Town Hall of Calpe, informing to all residents and visitors about a new service of daily update reports on swimming conditions status of  the coves and beaches in the area of Calpe.

In particular, this service will reort the state of the Arenal Bol beach,  Puerto Blanco beach, La Fose-Levante, Morell cove, Calalga cove, Roig beach and El Raco beach.

Those wishing to access these reports may do so through the following link which contains updated information about the flag colour flying in each beach of Calp, so that anyone knows whether if the place is suitable for swimming or not (it is in Spanish).

Cala Gasparet Cove in Calpe

After a break in the calendar of activities and events in Calpe, the Tourism Council brings back to the city a bunch of beach and water activities.

Snorkelling is the first activity to win back its place in the list of tours and excursions. You might have noticed this in the post of tours and excursions during May.

One advantage of snorkelling over other activities is the possibility to enjoy the beauties of our Costa Blanca seas without an exceptional lung capacity or extensive training in complex techniques.

Rock of Ifach

Those in the mood for outdoors activities are in luck. There are many excursions programmed in Calpe throughout November. On our opinion, the circular route around Sierra de Olta is just great. If you like hiking, you should not miss it.

Archaeology and history enthusiasts can join the walk to the Banos de la Reina archaeological site on November 2nd, 16th and 30th at 10:00 h. Starting point: Luxemburgo st.

November also brings snorkeling trips. The equipment is given by the organisers for the duration of the activity. The planned days are Saturdays 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th at 15:00 h. The meeting point is CEMAS, at 4 Gibraltar st.

The most interesting beaches and coves of Calpe

Calpe has such an abundance of beaches and coves to offer that we thought it would be helpful to print here the GPS coordinates of all of them so that you can find even the most remote together with information about beach facilities.

- Playa Levante or Fossa, GPS coordinates 38 ° 38’51 .25 “N 0 ° 4’31″ E, fine sandy beach  with  promenade, with all services including lifeguard surveillance.

- Playa Cantal Roig, GPS coordinates 38 ° 38’31 .70 “N 0 ° 3’48 .13″ E, fine sandy beach, with a variety of restaurants that make it perfect to sample the local cuisine.
