The Roman site of the Baños de la Reina, (the “Queen´s Baths”) in Calpe is an exeptional coastal enclave. As you can see from the photo overlookings a bay of calm waters protected by the Rock of Ifach.
Preserved fish was the main product of the town of Calpe, becoming the lifeblood of early settlers, this activity generated a small population that built their houses on the coastal dunes, resulting in rather a selective and diversified residential development.
The tourism department of the municipality of Calpe has launched a new initiative, by distributing in bars and restaurants five thousand calendar cards with the complete schedule of events in Calpe 2010.
These cards not only serve as informational material, but as a tool for the publication and promotion of thirty the celebrations held in the town throughout the year, and to this end it is hoped that they will attract a large audience for these dates.
The Levante beach or the Fossa is the most popular beach of Calpe. This is an unusual picture of the Levante beach as it is very hard to find it so devoid people.
The Levante beach is situated north of the Rock of Ifach, (“Peñon de Ifach,”) and has stretches along 950 meters of white sand; a delight for those who like to lie on the sand and enjoy the sun.

Celebration Andalusian Day Calpe
The festivities in Calpe are guaranteed throughout the year. On 28 February the Andalusians that are residents in Calpe are the stars of the occasion and the celebration of Andalusia. The, “Fiesta,” of , “Andalusian Day,”has been held in Calpe since 1996.
Each year during the several days of celebration there are a variety of events highlighting the tribute to the members, performances by dance groups from the “Casa de Andalucía” and of course a large and varied sample of typical Andalusian cuisine, international and local cuisine,as many of both members and friends, are from different communities and of different nationalities.
