Calpe´s House of Andalusia is proud to invite to everyone to the 2012 Festival’s Queen Pageant contest and the Holy Cross festivals on 12 and 13 May at Casa de Cultura “Jaume Pastor I Fluxa”.

Holy Week processions in Calpe
Holy Week comes soon and many of us take this holiday to leave the routine behind and enjoy different activities. Those who chose Calpe to enjoy Holy Week will find this calendar of holy Week 2012 events really useful:
Holy Week 2012 in Calpe:
Friday, 23 March: At 21:00 h, Via Crucis around Arenal-Bol beach Blvd. The starting point is the harbour, from where the Christ statue will be taken to the boulevard, where the Via Crucis will start until Colón Sq.
Friday, 30 March: At 07:00 h, Rosary of the Dawn (Rosario de la Aurora) and Our Lady of Sorrows Mass. Virgin procession after the mass.
Valencia Fallas 2012
This weekend 2012, the most important Fallas-related events will take place in Valencia, as it is the last one, and Monday 19 March is a bank holiday.
Besides the scheduled events, we strongly suggest you to visit the most important fallas monuments: Town Hall Square Falla, Nou Campanar, Na Jordana, Pilar Square and Jerusalén-Matemático Marzal are the most impressive ones. However, you will surely be delighted with some others you will find on the way.

Calpe Fallas 2012 schedule: Comprehensive information about the events taking place during this festival:
On Friday 16 March at 16:00 h, the plantá starts. It is the installation of monuments to be later burnt. At 19:00 h, attendees will enjoy hot chocolate. At 21:00 h, there will be a bring-your-own-food dinner at the fallas tent, and later there will be a ball.
On Saturday 17 March at 04:30, the “despertá” —wake-up call— will take place at Casal Fallero, and a parade will walk the streets of Calpe. At 13:00 h, there will be a sardines popular feast and sangria for anyone taking part in the party, next to the monument.. At 18:00 h, there will be a greasy pole and children’s’ games. At 22:00, join the Fallera Party with bring-your-own-meal dinner and music at the Fallera tent.
