If you had to highlight something from Spain, chances are you would mention its cuisine. And it does not matter where in Spain: Every city and town, big or small, has a characteristic dish impossible to find anywhere else.
In fact, some of those special dishes leave a mark on us and pushes us to come back over and over again.
In Calpe, there are many reasons to keep returning. One of them is the so called Peix de Calp, or fish of Calpe. This is a very popular dish among Spaniards from other regions. The best places to eat it are any of the restaurants with the Peix de Calp sign. This distinction guarantees that the fish or seafood has been disembarked in the Calpe bay and marketed in the Calpe Fish Market.
This city also has a unique wine, Penon de Ifach, smoky and toasted, with fruity notes.
As you would expect from a city in the Region of Valencia, Calpe has its typical rice dish: Arros de Senyoret, prepared with seafood. To finish the list, ther is the Llauna de Calp, a delicious casserole made with potatoes and seafood.
