The beaches of Calpe are ready for the summer. Services such as lifesaving, adapted facilities, ecological toilets, scooters, kayaks, floating platform, games and watercraft are ready for the arrival of the tourists.

The security and lifesaving program will run until 15 September. Up to 22 lifeguards will be on duty from 11:00 to 19:00 h. in seven spots of Calpe’s coastline: Puerto Blanco, Arenal, Morelló, Cantal Roig, La Fossa, Calalga y Racó. Six first aids stations and ambulance service will be operative on the beaches, which will also have a passenger car, a 4×4, 4 bikes and a kayak to perform surveillance tasks.

Adapted beach service is available at the beaches of Fossa and Arenal-Bol, with bathing areas especially designed to meet the needs of people with mobility problems, senior citizens and visually impaired.  The beaches are equipped with waterproof chairs and crutches, toilets, showers and dressing area, plus two dedicated lifeguards and support personnel. These accessible points are open from Monday to Sunday, from 11:00 to 19:00 h. and have a reserved parking area, also available for senior citizen with no disabled parking card.

Besides the inclusive facilities Arenal-Bol beaches have kayaks rental service and floating platform games and Fossa beach offers jet skis for hire.

Saturday 25 June

139 Blue Flags quality awards (125 for beaches and 14 for ports and yacht clubs) were handed in Valencia Region last week, and we are happy to say that three of them to went to Calpe’s beaches: Fosssa, Arenal and Cantal Roig beaches.

In the ceremony -besides collecting the blue flags- Fossa Beach was awarded with a special mention for obtained the aforementioned blue flag for 30 straight years (from the very beginning of the blue flag awards program creation), certainly a deserved recognition of its sustainable water and environmental management.

Along with Fossa beach, we can mention other Blue Flag awarded beaches in the region such as North Beach Gandia, Raco de l’Albir (Alfaz del Pi), Carrer de la Mar (El Campello) and San Juan de Alicante.
